Canton Island was one of the main Pacific stops for the Boeing B-314 PAA Clippers. It also had runways for aircraft equipped with landing gear other than floating. Jesse

Nice pics of Canton Island. Where is the add-on scenery from? There was A good book out there about Canton Island called "Canton Island Aerial Crossroads of the South Pacific". I'm not sure if it is still available.

Jim, the Canton Island scenery is payware contained in the PILOT'S B-314 Clippers. In addition to the aircraft, they also have scenery of all the Clipper landing areas. Canton is one of my favorites along with Treasure Island.

Thanks for the update Jesse. I think I still have that B-314 someplace. I bought it some time ago. Thanks. Jim

In 1973 we took a family trip to Australia via Hawaii and Fiji. I remember the Captain coming on the PA telling us that we were passing over Canton Island. I vaguely recall looking out the window and seeing a small atoll below.

Yep, Canton has quite a hitorical background. It is also the atoll that Amelia was supposed to have gone down nearby. They are still looking for her in that area. I understand a new search team will be going back there sometime this summer.

Jesse Details here: tighar.org/Projects/Earhart/NikuVI/SponsorTeamMembers.htmlThe TIGHAR group have found some interesting artifacts in their assorted Earhart expeditions over the years. Chris Edit: This is not meant to be endorsing TIGHAR sponsorship, but it is the page dealing with the expedition that Jesse was likely referring to.
