Hi Tom -
My son and I will be in San Diego in late July for a baseball tournament. We're both excited about finding some time to sit under the approach to RWY 27. Any suggestions on some ideal locations? Are those parking garages an option?
Thanks for any advice!
Scott

I've always used the parking lots right on Laurel St. (next to the airport fence). But that was several years ago, and I don't know if people get hassled there now.
The parking structures are Park and Ride lots - you could always ask at the entrance booth whether that would be OK. I'm sure you would have to pay (about $12 per day, some have partial day rates). The one right over the approach path is the Laurel Travel Center, at Laurel St. and Pacific Coast Highway.
Hope this helps,

Yes, the Midway Museum - a must see.

Thanks for those suggestions. I was not aware of the Midway Museum. We'll definitely check it out.

Hi, It's just south on Harbor Drive from the airport. Watch for the aircraft carrier on your right (not the ones in service across the bay!). Lots of planes on display, and even a flight simulator you can fly.
