R5D and L-649 for John Gebhart Discussion

These were painted for John Gebhart who served in the United States Coast Guard. John is an avid modeler and sent me pictures of his fantasy paint on his model of a L-649 which looked awesome on this bird. Finding pictures for the R5D are few, thus no registration markings. The paint on the R5D has an issue that on the orange band at the rear, there is a gap on the underside where it does not paint, something that I just realized with this model. Maybe it's a seam issue. To compensate for this, I added a stripe on the underside from that point up to the propellar warning band which strangely covers ups that gap. John asked me to post some screens for him so other Coast Guard members could enjoy them.
