I was informed today that my old friend and fellow pilot from our Baltimore days has died.
KING, Jack Lawrence 90, of Largo, born in Sugar Grove, VA, passed on Aug. 6, 2012. Funeral services will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10:45 am sharp on Aug. 13th. Memorial service to be held at 11:30, American Legion Post #273, 600 American Legion Dr., Madeira Beach, FL 33708. Jack is survived by his wife, Anne McMullen King; son, Jack L. King, Jr. of Sharpsburg, GA; daughter, Linda Dulny of Baltimore, MD; daughtger, Jeanne Stuart of New Hampshire; brother, Ken King of Baltimore, MD and 8 grandchildren. Jack was a charter member of QB's Baltimore Hanger, and a member of the Boumi Flying Patrol American Legion, OX5, member of the Republican Club of Greater Largo, Army Air Corp test pilot for Glen L. Martin A&E/A&P Aircraft Mechanic's License, Flight Instructor, Chief Corporate pilot for C.J. Langerfelder, Managing editor of Professional Pilot Magazine, Author of notable works including Wings of Man and and Corporate Flying and holder of multiple aviation patents. Jack's life was rich and full beyond measure; he touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed. Jack was the test pilot for Martin when they developed the M-202 and the M-404. He was a B-25 pilot in WWII.

Thanks, Tom. I'm trying. I am crowding 90 and with good luck, I should still be around awhile longer. So far I have outlived all my old friends, relatives and classmates.

These are moments when words are meaningless. Losing someone close to you is an excruciating pain no decent person should suffer, in a perfect world. I am close to you in spirit.
