Would like to do more flying on the L.10 Electra but have found the flying characteristics a bit jerky. Does anyone know if there are there any adjustments to the aircraft config file that would make the aircraft fly a little more stable and to myself a little more stable. Did some flying in it this evening after a long time but my main concern is the jerkiness.
In my old installation I replaced the original FSDB panel with the vintage one from, I think, the Amelia Earhart aircraft.
Thanks John

You might try reducing the fuel and/or payload.

Thanks Gary. Good thought. Will give that a try.

You might also check the sensitivities and null zones on your yoke/joystick. I have found that they "wander off course" after an extended period of not being used.

John,
You can also reduce elevator, aileron and rudder effectiveness in the [flight_tuning] section of the aircraft.cfg file. Make a copy of the original file first, just in case.

Hi Art That looks the way to go. In my original post I meant to say "and to myself a little more realistic". A bit of trial and error in the flight tuning section may well do the trick.

Today reduced the elevator, aileron ans rudder effectiveness from 1.000 to .75 and what a difference that made. The aircraft flew beautifully calm and stable in turns, descent and climbing. Just have to work more on getting my approach speed down a tad as still getting a small bounce on landing. I'm touching down close to the 90 knot mark which seems too high compared to a DC-3. Is there any line in the cfg. file that can be modified to rectify this?
I have always loved the Lockheed twins. Will always have a L.14 or civilian Hudson on my wish list.

Try increasing the flap drag values?

Thanks Tom Will give that a try. The great thing with this Forum is that you never stop learning new things to make simming even more enjoyable.
Had a look at the Howard 500 but would love a Guinea Airways L.14 or a post war East West Airlines Hudson.

Have just received Henry Tenby's TCA 1940s and 1950s DVDs with some great footage of TCA Lodestars. Lets keep hoping that someone will take up the challenge and create one for FS9. (I recall there being one in FS2002).

Not that I can see - it doesn't appear they are really finished with the Harpoon yet...
