The weather report announced heavy rain and snow for today. So I stayed at home and worked a bit on Oran 1960. Mostly the military part, including the barracks. I tried to add a bit of AI to spice the scenery up. Unfortunately I had hard times finding appropriate planes: the French RF-84s were used over Algeria, but never based there to the best of my knowledge, the Cessnas are not really AI. Some of the Noratlasses here are static, the two in the back are AI. Also completed the GA part.

Any news about release dates for these airports? As I decided to add some of the smaller airports, it might yet take a while.

¡Hola! It's 90 degrees out today, blue skies and sunshine, so I'm keeping cool and working on a mini scenery project. Here is Tijuana international airport. I discovered some photos of the actual terminal and airport, and realized that my old scenery was entirely wrong in most every way. So I decided to redo it and throw in a couple of other small towns - Santa Rosalía, Mexicali, and Ensenada. Once your Aeronaves de México Britannia arrives, why not take a ride on a Transportes Urbanos de Tijuana B.C. converted school bus down to the Avenida Revolución to do a little shopping or see a bullfight? Not up for a noisy, smoking old ex school bus? Try a ride on a Tijuana Taxi instead Several hundred miles further south is tiny Santa Rosalía BCS, served by Trans Mar de Cortes. Santa Rosalía is a mining town filled with french architecture, and boasts a church designed by Gustave Eiffel. It is located several hundred miles down the Baja peninsula on the Gulf of California, and was popular in the 1950s and 60s with Americans. Common activities were sports fishing, diving, sunbathing on the beaches or sailing, and mostly, eating and drinking. In the background you can see the peak of Las Tres Vírgenes volcano, which last erupted in 1847. I had to recreate the town, as most of these Baja towns do not exist in FS. The stock landclass for Baja is so poor that I have had to redo the entire peninsula. MS even left out Loreto, a large city and the capital of Baja California Sur. Wolfgang and two lovely Senoritas out for a day of sailing - don't forget the ice cold Tecate and limes! If you stand at the end of the pier, you can see flying fish which the Gulf of California is famous for. Lastly, what would the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez) be without all the crab boats, fishing boats, and shrimp boats? Just thinking of tacos de camarón (shrimp tacos, with a garlic pepper salsa on them) makes my mouth water . Baja is where Californians go to drink and eat seafood. The Gulf can be 90 degrees in July and temperatures on land can easily reach 114 or more every single day. Here a shrimp boat is returning to the pier with what else?....hundreds of noisy gulls! I've had this "shrimp boat with birds" from Ron EZ Maritime library for years and never knew about these animated seagulls. If you get too close, they will swarm around you, almost dive bomb you. The only thing missing is the incessant loud screeching. You learn something new every day! Mexicali is about done, and Ensenada is not very difficult. That, and create a bullring and I should be done with this project in a couple of weeks.

WOW...! Excellent scenes Mike...... nice to see the customized AMX ramp equipment! BTW.....the Mexico project is a high priority....I'm in the process of identifying those airports that need more work because I discovered severe elevation and flatten issues when I transfered the files from my old system...I tried fixing them with ADE & other tools but on most cases it would be easiest to rebuild some of them from scratch. Thanks again for your dedication to this portion of Mexico
