Hi,
That building underneath the tower is a default black skyscraper in the FS9 file: OB9NAME0.bgl. The equivalent file in FSX is OBX28170.bgl, in folder FSX/Scenery/0302/scenery. I would use a dark skyscraper in there, object #44 or #62 (as listed by Instant Scenery). You would need to scale it down and/or move part of it underground.
The way to find these default OBX files is to open ADEX, open the stock airport, and at the bottom of the screen where you pick the default airport it will list the folder and APX file for the airport. In the case of JFK/IDL it is APX28170.bgl. In the same folder will be an equivalent OBX file with the same number, and the airport objects will be inside there.
Hope this helps,

Yep it helps bigtime. Can you tell me what are the other black objects on my screenshot? And could someone remake PanAm worldport to higher detail?

Hi, Here are the objects with black squares: If you download the image into a paint program and enlarge it you can read it more easily. There are objects in the OBX28170.bgl file listed by number; the GUID's are below. Most objects need to be scaled down and lowered into the ground. They are all 1 and 2 story buildings. #1: dd23de74-4d54-40a3-80fc-fedef6039f67 #2: 81457dce-2d06-43e6-bed8-fd10ac032339 #3: 67d5e28d-555d-450c-9772-a3f37c90f18e #4: c8ad5548-2bfc-4f1e-9785-7cc8418db4cc Hope this helps,

PS. Some of the terminals at JFK are being redone by Chris: retroai.proboards.com/thread/3517/projects?page=2But I don't know if that includes the Worldport. Once he's finished I might be able to incorporate some of his work into the 1962 version, if he agrees.

I was actually doing an entire scratch build of the airport, all buildings will be custom made, and a new detailed afcad. The only things I was planning to include from Toms version (should he let me so graciously) were the modified airport background BMPs and a couple other tiny elements. I an also making (like Tom) a 1958 version without the airline unit terminals. Both versions will have every major building at JFK/IDL modeled (terminals, hangars, cargo, etc.)

Hi,
It's actually on the American and TWA terminals. Those objects need to be converted to FSX format, using Set Default Transparent on the textures in Model Converter X. You then use Export Scenery and save as an FSX BGL file. They are in the NewYorkTerminals.BGL file. And the AMERICAN lettering on the terminal front needs the same thing, along with the other semi-transparent signs. They are in the IDL_Library.bgl file.
Hope this helps,

Hi again, Here are the #1 through #4 missing buildings in FS9 (the FSX buildings I listed above are not identical, but should still work OK): #1: #2 and #3: #4: Hope this helps,

So far I think my JFK/IDL airport will be compatible with FSX either completely or around 90%, so hopefully that will make this project a little easier and give FSX'ers something to use You'll love the new Canarsie approach.
