Trying to get a feel of how much daily North Atlantic traffic there would have been around 1958 to 1960. My guess would be about 20 flights in each direction??
Does anyone have any numbers.

Hi,
Off by a factor of 2, according to my AI traffic in 1959.
Departing Idlewild on Mondays were 32 flights to Europe. Two flights departed Detroit for Europe, 5 from Boston, 6 from Montreal, and 2 from Gander.
Hope this helps,

OK.....thank you Tom. I am in the process of doing a couple of long distance flights, namely the first jetliner flight by BOAC Comet 4 from London to New York and then Pan Am's 707 flight New York-Paris both taking place in October 1958.
I did encounter some of your AI traffic enroute, so I was curious as to how many flights actually crossed the pond back in those day's.
