I'm looking for a low resolution B-17. It's for the scenery project I'm doing. The B-17 in question is for AI traffic in FSX.

Hi, with the freeware software program called " FSX GA-Traffic " ,to be found on flightsim.com ( fsxgarc2.zip ), you can make a AI version from any model you have flying in FSX.
Regards, Hans.

Thanks Hans.
I gave FSX GA-Traffic a try, but the B-17 I have is the FS2004 WOW power B-17. Even reducing the texture sheets from 1024X1024 to 512X512 has not helped much. It would be best to start with a low resolution B-17 that I could turn in to an AI plane.

There's an AI version of a B-17G at Avsim and Flightsim by ACG/John Young. There were packages for FSX as well as for FS9. The file name was "acg_ai_pack3_fs9.zip" for the one I got, so I'm guessing it's "acg_ai_pack3_fsx.zip" for the other, but don't quote me on that. There are a total of 4 historic packages with everything from Dragon Rapides, to Tiger Moths, to F-86 sabres, PBY's, P-51's, and P-47's among others. I prefer the JAI version of the C-47, AT-6, etc, but the B-17G is the only one I know of for AI and I found it fairly good from what I can tell in FS9. I did a Bolivian paint for personal use and it looked good alongside the AI currently at El Alto - even if the guns looked out of place for a "meat hauler".
Hope this helps.
