This is an issue so odd that I hesitate to report it. I have recently been flying the Manfred Jahn Constellation in the repaints for BOAC and Skyways of London. I always start the engines in the authentic manner and have had no problem doing so, except at the Cal Classic Zurich, where they will generally not start. On one occasion Number Three fired and then the others would not. This morning I tried with the Skyways paint, they would not fire, I moved the aircraft to London Heathrow and they duly worked. I have not experimented with other airports in the Cal Classic Central Europe scenery except Dusseldorf, where there was no problem. It looks as if something in the Zurich scenery is interfering with the operation of this aircraft. Is this possible?

Sounds very unusual, never heard about such problems before. Zürich as well as all other airports in CE61 are build the same way. There are no special gimmicks in Zürich. Maybe try another parking position. Also keep in mind that all CE61 airports are not compatible with UTE. The airports are designed ( like all Calclassic airports ) with stock FS9 in mind.
Try to uncheck all other add-ons which can influence this region, then restart FS and try again.
Cheers Wolfgang

Same with Zurich default scenery so not that.
Seems Zurich's 1500 ft elevation needs auto rich mixture and about 10% throttle whereas normally 100% mixture and only 2-3% throttle works.

Edit: Ken, I assume you're familiar with the start switch "prompts". On further testing, it seems that throttle just needs cracked, 2-3% will be OK, and the prompt will tell you whether less than 100% mixture is required. Best of luck.

I was going to ask about the altitude and if that affected the mixture requirements. Glad Bill found the answer.

Many thanks to you all. Using Auto-Rich and a little more throttle than usual I have just started all four engines. And I didn't think it possible to be more impressed by the Constellation than I already was. BOAC Flight 704 from London to Sydney via Zurich in July 1953 can now proceed, after a technical issue.
