Hi, last year i started with an upgrade of the Cv-440 from Tom Gibson and Greg Pepper. My chief aim was the creation of a more realistic virtual cockpit. So here are the first pictures from my work until today: The fuselage (reduced diameter, since Greg's model was 10 inch too wide) and vertical stabilizer are all new, new wheels and tires, with original dimensions from Goodyear, and new cockpit interior. Possibly an update of the Cv340. The new vc with "clickable" switches and 3d instrumentation. And last but not least a view toward the rear from the copilots seat. Cheers Bernie

Beautiful! If the texture mapping for the outside is the same as the others you can include the paints I did for Caribair in the release. I can't remember if I did them just for Aaharon or if I did a general release. Just let me know and I'll send them to you. Otherwise, just let me know and I'll redo them for you guys! This is just amazing!

Good news! Hope I can convince you to do a 340 as well. It's just a nacelle replacement.
Thanks,

I spot a few elements that look familiar. And you can try to fit the weather "radar" gauge from my F27 conversion to the one in your cockpit to liven things up.

Bernie,
Fantastic from what I see so far. I especially like the overhead-nice to see the actual placement as opposed to a flat projection on the ceiling! Were the screen shots done in FSX? If so, is this model backward compatible to FS 2004? I'm not being picky here-it will definitely find a place in my FSX hangar regardless. Once again, a great job and a tip of the hat to you.
Regards,
Phil

I spot a few elements that look familiar. Hi Bjoern, yes I found your cockpit parts from your Cv-580 quite handy, thank you for your kind offer. But I had to reduce the number of vertices, you did use, by half. All you other guys, thanks for the kind words. Building virtual cockpits of good quality for classic airliner is a painstaking job. Not only that useful pictures are rare but also the layout of the cockpit can be hard to copy. Most difficult I found, to transfer the logic of Tom's gauges into the clickabel switches, which means to update the "MakeMDL.parts.xml" in the FS2004 SDK. This model will be compatible for FS2004 and FSX, since I use the MakeMdl-compiler. Cheers Bernie

yes I found your cockpit parts from your Cv-580 quite handy, thank you for your kind offer. But I had to reduce the number of vertices, you did use, by half. I can't remember how many vertices my model had, but I guess it was too many to comply with FS9's 65536 vertex export limitation. Since the fuselage is new, is the pax door at the correct location now? And will the entire overhead feature 3D elements? By the way: I think I have some pretty good 3-views for the Convairs (T-29) from a book about the Convairliners. Did I send you those and would you still need them?

Hi Bjoern, would be nice to this three-dimensional views. Do you still have my e-mail adress? I have tried your weather radar gauge, in FSX of course , but it did not move. Is there something more, other then the gauge, to pay attention to? Another weired effect of this aircraft: To get an readout from the gear hydraulic pressure gauge (copied from the default DC3) I set the gear type to hydraulic, in the aircraft.cfg. Now I can extent/retract the landing lights only if the engines are running. Is there an other way to animate the landing lights, because by default they are coupled with the water rudder extension. Cheers Bernie

And the standard textures for the 340 and 440 will fit, with a little exception around the cockpit windows and the lenghted vertical stabilizer.
But no big deal to fix this.
Cheers Bernie
