Hi guys,
Yesterday I downloaded the Base United Airlines DC7 and succesfully installed it on my FSX (steam edition) on windows 7. The model works just fine, however almost none of the textures are showing. I only get to see the propellor "textures" while the engines are running. They go blank/white when the engines are shut down. Is this something that happened to someone else before, or does someone know how to fix this issue? I followed the instructions provided with the download package.
Thanks in advance.

Let's check some things first.
1. Did you install FSX:SE into a Program Files folder? If so, Windows will sometimes not allow certain files to be read properly. You need to get full permissions for your FSX:SE folder. You likely don't have it. An easy way to do this is to turn UAC off (slider to the left) in the Control Panel (User Accounts/Change User Account Control Settings).
2. Do you have a texture.united folder in the FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes/DC=-7 folder?
3. Do you have 40 BMP files inside the texture.united folder?
Hope this helps,

To answer your questions:
1. I am the administrator of my pc, so I would imagine that I already have full permission to all the files. However I did turn the UAC off. I also unchecked in all the FSX files properties the "read-only" button. Both things had no effect.
2. I do have the texture.united folder in the FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes/DC-7 folder.
3. And all the 40 files are present in the texture.united files.
To see if this problem only occurs with this particular aircraft I decided to install both the base DC6 and the DC7C aircraft. And they to have the same problem. All the outside (and inside) textures are white. Strangely the cockpit textures in 'spot view' do show however. But when I enter the VC it's white again except from one little detail. I think its the edge of the dashboard.

Hi,
If you are running the DX10 Preview mode, turn it off.

Hi Tom,
Turning DX10 preview mode off was the trick! All textures are working in all their glory! Thank you very much!
