Shalom and greetings all my pals, Photobucket had made important announcement 2 days ago that could potentially ruin everybody's fun of creating and posting screenshots. PhotoBucket now charges $399 for third-party hosted images. Here is new rule for Photobucket: Free account : Each individual Member gets one free account that provides 2 GB of free storage or space available for your original photo files, or videos under 10min. The free account does not allow any image linking or 3rd party image hosting. If a free account Member exceeds their Content Limit, their account will be immediately suspended and they will need to become a “Paying Member” (defined below) in order to continue accessing their account. You can upgrade to a Plus account at any time. Photobucket's new pricing system: o Plus 50 Plan: 52 GB of Storage for $59.99 / Year. The Plus 50 Plan does not allow any image linking or 3rd party image hosting. o Plus 100 Plan: 102 GB of Storage for $99.99 / Year. The Plus 100 Plan allows for unlimited image linking but not allow 3rd party image hosting. o Plus 500 Plan: 500 GB of Storage and unlimited bandwidth for $399.99 / Year. The Plus 500 Plan allows for unlimited image linking and unlimited 3rd party image hosting. Here is the link for specific explanations by computer analyst experts as seen on this link: www.ghacks.net/2017/06/30/photobucket-now-charges-399-for-third-party-hosted-images/This is going to destroy flightsimmers' important hobby of creating beautiful screenshots. Guess I will have to look for another very reliable and superb photo image hosting site. Shesshhhhh. Regards, Aharon

Very disappointing news, since all my images in this forum are on Photobucket. I'm not sure why, but all my photos are still being linked just fine - in fact just yesterday I used Photobucket to upload and link to all the Miami airport photos, and they are showing up fine. Here is an example linked today:

Tom,
Yes but Photobucket is starting to block images now. If you look further in my past screenshots, you will see blocked images.
Regards,
Aharon

There are several other hosters out there, I use the off Mutleys Hanger, www.mutleyshangar.com/index.htm I am not sure as to how much space is granted as I don't use it overly much but the link from Mutley goes to fs-snaps.com/ by its title one may assume it is FS sympathetic. :-)

Thanks all for very interesting comments.
I have been using Photobucket for almost TEN years for millions of my screenshots published in various aviation forums and NOW I have to look for a new image hosting site that can offer BBB code below each of 25 screenshots per page so that I can click on BBB img code and paste on forum post for fast work writing a flight screenshot report.
Got to evaluate Imgur and Flickr as well as FSFiles to see which one offers me painless and fast copy of IMG codes. Remember I publish an average of 45 screenshots per post.
Regards,
Aharon

I happily use Imgur. Its always free, always simple and easy to use, and always no hassles. Looks like Photobucket has jumped the same greedy for-profit train that Photoshack was on. I remember when Photoshack did this same thing. I used to use them before I went to Imgur. Photoshack lost over half their users because of these fees, and then their advertising revenue collapsed. Then they started begging people to "come back, for a low introductory fee". Another thing Photoshack did was delete all your photos after a certain date, but you could not download them to save them until you paid them their fee to join. RIP OFF. Beware that Photobucket might try this same trick. Avoid the hassles. imgur.com/

Hi, since today Photobucket has blocked my pictures of the Cv-440 in the screenshot section. An fully legal "Wanna cry" locker? Cheers Bernie

While Photobucket is ruining all aviation forums' screenshot or photo subforums by replacing screenshots and photos with black boxes, Photbucket also is ruining many virtual airlines' websites and homepages by replacing screenshots or photos with black boxes as seen on example of the following link: www.virtualaca.net/index.php/tour/category/3Regards, Aharon

IMGUR works much smoother than Photobucket. Before the webside finished loading all the ads stuff you got old.
Cheers Bernie

For myself, I have found Flickr to be great for uploading charts, photos etc. Their annual Pro Account fee is fairly low as well. Can see Flickr picking up a lot of cheesed off Photobucket users.

John, keep your maps and pictures at a save place.
I find them quite valuable.
Cheers Bernie
