Hello CalClassic!
I'm Otmar from Wing42, the developer of the Lockheed Vega for P3D and FSX. Some of you may already be familiar with my work, since I post irregularly on SOH to share some of the progress. Being a new developer in the market, I have some difficulty getting some recognition for the brand and the add-on and one of my customers pointed me into the direction of CalClassic.
The Lockheed Vega actually misses the "age-bracket" of this forum by about three years though. She was released into the wild in 1927. She was, however, years ahead of her time, so I think that makes up for the gap.
The add-on is currently available in Early-Access at a reduced price. Don't let that label fool you though, by the standard of many other add-on developers out there she would be sold as a full version long time ago. But my goal is to bring you not just an aircraft, but the experience of operating and maintaining a machine like this - which is why this aircraft has been in development for around three years, two of them in full-time.
The Lockheed Vega was the pinnacle of aviation technology for many years. She set numerous records and almost all of the most famous pilots of that era flew Vegas at some point in their career: Jimmy Doolittle, Jimmie Mattern, Roscoe Turner, Ruth Nicols, Arthur C. Goebels, Elinor Smith, and many more. Amelia Earhart was the first woman to solo across the Atlantic in a Lockheed Vega. Wiley Post's flew the "Winnie Mae" around the world twice, both times setting record speeds (read his and Gatty's book "Around the world in eight days", it's a really fun read!).
If you're curious about the add-on, have a look at our website: www.wing42.com

There are some reviews about this add-on, however most of them deal with previous versions and many more features have been included since. But search for "Wing42" on fselite.net or flightsim.com to get an idea.

Kind Regards,
