Gang, I am pulling my hair out trying to find out why new additions (specifically the new DC6B files) do not download correctly with Vista. The texture file for the United plane does not show up, and additional textures added also. I believe it has to do with the "User Account Control" that is part of Vista. This is a computer protection program that does not allow unauthorized files from attaching themselves to the computer. If I turn this off, the files show up, but not when it is on. I'm trying to figure out what permissions I can work under so that I do not have to turn UAC off. Any ideas? Marv

Hi Marv - Most of the Vista-using simmers I know disable UAC on day one, and leave it off. Its sole purpose in life seems to be to stop you doing what you want, with your computer.

Hi,
to prevent this, you have to install such programes outside of C:/Programs/.... Try to use C:/Microsoft Games/.... or another partition on your Vista PC. Also there are problems with AFCAD and other developer tools.
To disable the UAC is not a good idea, then Vista is more vulnerable than XP SP3 if you work with administrator rights.

Wolfgang Wolfgang, Thanks - I think you told me that before - but I didn't listen So now I tried what you said, and it appears that all is working - still - (don't touch anything, you'll break it!!) Marv (and UAC is back up and running.)
