Shalom and greetings all my pals,
Is it worth to buy Flight Replicas DC-4 package consisted of few different variants plus cargo Carvair plane for the sale price of 20 bucks for use of FSX??
Or should I stick to freeware CalClassical DC-4s that are doing fine for me??
Is the payware add on too much work to fly? My only interest is to create beauty of screenshots and have fun flying it without too much work in order to fly. Does the payware add on have built in failure feature that will shut down engines and crash your plane if you do not do proper job using propellers to fly?
Regards,
Aharon

Hello Aharon,
Owing to my love of DH Herons, I bought the Flight Replicas one but my I concluded that this developer's products are pretty basic. For example, the sounds had no startup or shutdown noises! Performance was not realistic and I wasn't over-impressed with the panel itself, either. But as a committed tweaker I eventually had the aircraft flying as I would like it. I didn't find any built-in failures. To be honest, unless there are some DC-4 liveries there you can't live without, I wouldn't bother. There are some good models out there already which won't cost you a penny, and enough liveries to last you a lifetime. Couple these with the FSA performance and I doubt any commercial product would come near. Some discussion plus a video of the Carvair variant at the AVSIM forums in the thread "Flight Replica DC-4 released". Best regards, John

There are some good models out there already which won't cost you a penny, and enough liveries to last you a lifetime. I have agreed with you and I have terrific freeware Calclassic DC-4 and C-54 with tons of tons of crisp sharp liveries BUT the problem is that I cannot resist Carvair planes with crisp sharp Ansett liveries in payware FlightReplica model base. That makes me wonder if it is worth 20 bucks for that Carvair cargo plane unless you or anybody tells me there is terrific freeware FSX compatible Carvair with functioning front cargo nose doors and superb crisp livery repaints out there that I am not aware of. Some discussion plus a video of the Carvair variant at the AVSIM forums in the thread "Flight Replica DC-4 released". Unless you are making suggestion that I should go to the Avsim forums to look for that post, I am afraid that the hyperlink for above is missing from your terrific posted reply. Once again thanks for your insights. Regards, Aharon
