Is Trans Canada livery really super shiny in this new model base?

From what I see in the images provided (TCA North Star and American AL) the textures do not look "Super Shiny" to me, but rather a more glossy grey, and not at all what an unpainted aluminum skin would look like. Just MIO.

Ahron,
Trans Canada is not included in this release. I think you're confused with the other model they offer: Canadair North Star

Having looked at the screenshots, the C-54, DC-4 and Carvair look fabulous. I'm very pleased that at last these great planes have been released. Unfortunately I am not able yet to purchase the proper software to have these gems fly. Does anyone know who are the creators (persons) of the models, flight dynamics and sound? For the time being I am still happy with Jens' FS2004 C-54, DC-4 and never released Carvair. Now waiting for the paint-kit... Rob et all, the paint kits for C-54/DC-4/Carvair are available too now. I just downloaded them out of curiosity. Cheers, Maarten

They never contacted me, so I don't know who they are. I did see a couple of posts made on some aircraft construction forums and thus knew someone was working on them.

Such a shame we never got our Carvair from Jens, ' Ho-hum ', guess I'll stay with my old freeware one !! I tried many times to convince Jens to release the Carvair (apart from one very small detail it was ready to fledge), unfortunately with no reaction. There was and is no way to let her fledge without his explicit permission, which I don't expect. Still have about twenty paints for that one in the "vault". Such is life. I'm very pleased that Flight Replicas released this package, even though the chance is remote for me to enjoy it. I had a look at the paint kits for the C-54/DC-4/Carvair, but since I don't have the proper software and skill I have to leave that job to other more skilled people who I know are here in the community. Cheers, Maarten

This is a very impressive product. I have respectfully retired the JBK (plus contributed mods, paints, including my own work) to the historical hangar. This is the definitive DC-4 C-54 and the Carvair. You get a range of variants, old and modern, and types. As good as the JBK (plus CalClassic mods etc were, this is fantastic. After probably about 400 hours in the sim in the JBK version this one is an honourable replacment but takes the aircraft into the capacity that FSX always had to be different and amazing. The coding is tight, its easy on framerates and best of all it fly's beautifully. I expect a flood of liveries and paints to suit all tastes over time.
With the release of the A2A Constellation, the PMDG DC-6, the Jahn Teams C-47 and now the FR DC-4 if your a piston engined Cal Classic affecionado (Round engines and props) then your seriously spoilt now for high quality, realistic aeroplanes for this era. For some this will be a problem because it is FSX.
So with the CalClassic scenery and AI working fine in FSX and now the venerable DC-4 the combination is unbeatable.

With the release of this Carvair memories come back. About 50 years ago it was a very familiair sound when the Carvairs departed over the city of Delft near Rotterdam, heading for Southend. Just started to play with the paint kit... This re-paint is still in progress..... It is merely a colour replacement of the stock G-AOFW file but have to change window arrangement, bump and spec files and alpha's as well. This will take some time, but when finished i'll try to make it available. The Pauling logo I have made some years ago, initially for the FS2004 Jens Kristensen Carvair in progress, which was never released, as Maarten stipulated. Cheers, Rob

Another (quick) Carvair re-paint... The stock G-AOFW in 1975 livery, provided with the Star Truckin 75 cartoon, when BTM productions leased this A/C for touring rock groups in Europe. Rob
