Removed FSX a few months ago in an attempt to clean out the drive on my computer. Did a re-install this AM. When it was finished installing there was no start icon on the desktop even though I had checked that box when starting the setup. Open the FSX main file, there was not one there either. Uninstalled the whole thing and started over. Still no icon. Where might it have gone ? Is there another way to start the program ?

Do not let FSX install into the default file location, it will cause all kinds of problems with modern operating systems which protect the "Program Files" folder. Since you have the chance now, with a new installation, fix this problem before it's too late! Change the install location!
Did manage to find the exe file in the main FSX folder. Didn't see it before as it was just a plain looking file. Not the usual FSX launch icon and didn't end in exe. Anyway, it works. Created a shortcut on the desktop and I'm in business.
