While trying to install BGL compiler I have unknowingly changed the way the contents of a scenery folder read.
The BGL files no longer have .bgl at the end of each line and for some reason I have a Internet Explorer icon at the start. Have gone into Properties etc. to try and find a fix but have been unsure as to what I should tick to get the lines back to how they should be.
Can someone please point in the right direction?
Thanks John

You don't mention the OS you are using but this is for Win7, the others should be similar.
To get the .BGL back at the end of the file names:
1. Get the folder contents in question displayed on the screen. 2. Tools/Folder Options. 3. View Tab 4. Uncheck Hide Extensions for Known File Types. 5. Click Apply, OK.
You can change the icons used by BGL files by:
1. Right click a BGL file, choose Properties. 2. Look for a line that starts Opens With: 3. Click the Change button. 4. Click the Browse button. 5. Browse to the program you would like to see the icon of. Perhaps you could use Notepad.exe. Browse to the Windows folder and type in notepad into the search box to find it, use the one in the System32 folder.
The only way I know to get the default icon back in Win7 is to use a program called Unassociate Extensions, available on the web.
