Okay in a recent post I asked for some vintage scenery and by the way, thank you syldair for the help. But most of those sceneries he mentioned I already have and no I don't really want Golden Wings cuz my FS already has that. So if you guys can find some more stuff send me at least 2 or 3 of 'em. Thanks

It would quite helpful, if you may specify what you exactly are searching for. Vintage sceneries are in very short supply. The offer is more than manageable, and there is nothing more. An obvious result of the vansihed interests for this era. Thanks MSFS!
You could go through every Flightsim websites, search in Google - they won't show any further suitable addons. It would therefore be advantageous to create airfields yourself. It needs nothing more than a few older buildings and hangars. That's it.

anahh,
Sorry for the late response. One thing you have to take into account when dealing with us, in general, is that we are older people that are not accustomed to being online constantly. As a result, we may not respond to many inquiries in the shorter amount of time that younger people are accustomed to. It doesn't convey in any way that we are ignoring you or your requests, but rather, I think it tends to convey that we would rather respond with something that has meaning rather than some frivolous comments. In other words, we respect you and would prefer to respond as such.
That being said, there are many websites out there that have vintage "stuff" available, both before, during, and after World War II. One of the major sites for that era is SimOuthouse, but you also have sites like Flightsim, Avsim, and Simviation. They all require membership, but that is free of charge.
The only difference would be with Simviation, which does offer an "express" membership for a modest fee so that you can download files at a faster rate. The only reason I acquired it was for the 70m mesh files available for FS9 for the entire world. They basically give you default FSX mesh scenery for FS9 (FSX default mesh is 70m worldwide, while FS9 was 90m). You can freely download files at a slower rate, however, without any issues.
You can also download many files from all these websites that you can configure and combine to create the type of world you would like. If you have the drive space, you can also create several installs of FS9 so that you can have dedicated sims for each of the "eras" that you would like to set up. I myself have one for CalClassic stuff and another for Golden Wings 3 which is the basis for Platinum Wings.
As for the Platinum Wings project itself, it has gone through many iterations over the decade or so of existence. It went from FS9, to FSX, back to FS9. At this time the final "product" -- if you can call it that -- is only for FS9. There may be some things that can be used in FSX such as aircraft and gauges, but the scenery would require some serious editing.
I say "product" because Platinum Wings is really a combination of things. I'm currently writing a PDF file that will encompass the "installation" of the thing. In a nutshell, it's an improvement of Golden Wings 3 so that the user can take advantage of the many "updates" that are available online to give FS9 a more natural and realistic look. These, when combined with some of the things I've come up with, give you an "environment" that I refer to as "Platinum Wings."
The installation instructions will also come with a sort of SDK that will allow you to modify or improve the "base" files I've used to create generic fields in order to repopulate the sim. These will be "cookie cutter" fields that can be used in ADE since you can import an airport from xml. The download will also include an Excel spreadsheet that has a set of formulae that enable you to get coordinates for the corner points based on an offset in meters from a reference point. In the case of the generic fields, this is the ARP. This will enable you to create the generic rectangles and areas with SBuilder9 for the scenery files you can't create with straight xml or ADE.
Again, these are items that are basically already done. It's just a matter of rewriting some things so that they make sense for the general public that wants to continue/add to the project. There's no reason for an SDK or a set of instructions if they only make sense to you and nobody else.
There is no time-line on release. Again, the main reason is because of real world responsibilities. I just can't give a time-line. It's been going on for many years now, so a few more months or another year won't be much of an issue for me.
If you would like, I can send you what I have so far. There is a video online at YouTube that explains how to "improve" FS9 which was made in 2019. I believe the person's "name" is "short final" or something similar. There used to be links in the description, but I believe because of ORBX issues they are no longer available. I can confirm that FSUIPC for FS9, WideFS for FS9, EnvTex, and ActiveCamera for FS9 are all freeware and can be found online if you do a search.
For the textures I would recommend Pablo Diaz's files, which I believe are V2 at this time. It's called HDE if I'm not mistaken. I would recommend these in lieu of the ORBX files, but I'm not sure if they are the same category. The ORBX files mentioned in the video are for ground textures, so I'm not sure if there are ground textures in Pablo's file. You would have to check.
Anyway, if you overlay/add the files in the video in the manner the person says you can have a basis for Platinum Wings. Just follow his procedures AFTER you have a BASE Golden Wings 3 install and you will get the basic base setup for what I'm working with. You then remove the AB, AT, AP, FL, NV, and OB files from their respective scenery folders. Just put them in a backup folder withing the scenery folder itself and you're fine.
Then all you do is install the scenery you want or create scenery from the SDK once it's out.
That's about it.
If you would like to be part of the project development, please let me know and I'll send you what I have for the development.
Regards and thanks for the interest!

Okay to be specific FSX or Fs2004 classic(1930s - 40s) scenery is what I'm looking for. And yes, now I know the concept of Platinum wings.
