Just saw this eye-catching DC-3 Mohawk at Boston Logan. Here how this aircraft is described by Mike Wilson, author of a simiilar repaint for default DC-3: It represents the special livery used by Mohawk Airlines on a few of their DC-3s from 1960 to 1962. Mohawk's Gas Light Service was somewhat like business class and was originally males only. The planes were outfitted in Victorian decor and the flight attendants wore "gay nineties" costumes with sequins and ostrich feathers. The customers were served free beer, cheese, pretzels and 5 cent cigars. Eventually Mohawk boxed off the front of the planes for women and children while the men were able to drink and smoke in the remaining club area.
Always surprised discovering unusual planes! Bernard

It actually spends most of the day there Monday through Friday. Check at 1900 GMT on Tuesday, in the 1962 traffic.

I never flew on that particular aircraft but when I was 10, my Mother, brother and I flew on a Mohawk DC-3 from Buffalo, N.Y. to Binghamton, N.Y., my very first flight!
