Al has kindly sent me a preliminary version of the Hamilton AFB scenery and have come across a problem of the AI aircraft hovering several feet about the apron. Also when you taxy off the tarmac onto the grass the aircraft I was using drops down onto the grass with quite a bang and in reverse from the grass to the tarmac the aircraft jumps into the air and slams down onto the apron.
I remember having a similar problem many years ago with the Liverpool Speke scenery but I cannot recall the solution Tom provided.
Al and two colleagues working on the scenery do not have this problem so I can only assume that there is something in my system causing it. The concerning thing is that if I am having this problem others may also encounter it when they install the scenery.
Any help in correcting this problem very much appreciated.
Thanks John

This can usually be fixed by placing a copy of the AFCAD (AF2) or ADE file into the Scenery/World/scenery folder.
Hope this helps,

Hi Tom Thank you for your quick reply.
Al suggested putting a copy of the ADE file into the above mentioned folder but the problem persists. I have deleted the original CalClassic Hamilton scenery from my Sim and searched through all of the scenery folders to see if there was something causing the clash but could not find anything that stood out. This is only the second time this has happened on my Sim and has me mystified as to why it is occurring.

For years I'm using Jacky Bouze's JABBgl elevation editor.

jab is fine for personal use, but since it alters default files it can’t be used for scenery releases. And I have found that on my machine putting a copy in the scenery/world/scenery folder does the same thing.

John, check your Scenery/World/Scenery folder to see if you have the original AFCAD Tom supplied with the previous version, it Will have SRF in its title but forgot the exact name. I do not have any version of an ADE or AFCAD in my world scenery folder and I have no issue. I have also given this to DeltaDart for testing and new repaints and he does not have the issue either, so you definitely have something in your system causing this.

And you may have the old version of KSRF installed? Do a file search for KSRF in your Addon Scenery folder. It includes a couple of flatten files that may be interfering.

Thank you everyone who responded, problem solved.
In the Scenery/World/Scenery folder I had been looking for a AF2 file named KSRF but found it was titled SRF which hadn't occurred to myself. That turned out to be the culprit and once it was removed all of the AI aircraft are sitting as they should and the scenery looks perfect.
Perhaps it may be a necessary in the Read Me instructions to alert people to this and ensure that they delete that file if, like myself, they have it installed.
Thanks again.

Excellent John, that was what I was waiting for, to understand why you were having it when I and DeltaDart where not. Now that I know for sure it was what I suspected I will add it to the documentation.
Also, DeltaDart has jumped in with some awesome repaints for aircraft at Hamilton I had to use either generic paints or other squadrons as Stand-ins. Every traffic year in this one will be very different and colorful with a wide variety of aircraft types, most of which will come with the scenery so not a lot of separate downloads.
Coming Soon!!!!

This is the wonderful thing about the Forum. Problems being solved when otherwise, in many cases you would have had no chance of working out what was going wrong.
Thank you Tom and every other contributor.
