Having read through the recent thread “Scenery Elevation Problem” I have a similar problem with the UK2000 Luton Extreme scenery for FS2004. I did ask UK2000 for advice a few years ago, and was advised to remove any conflicting scenery for Luton/EGGW. Which I don’t believe I have. They had already discontinued technical support for FS2004 products by then, so there was little point in trying them again.
The problem with floating AI aircraft is confined only to a small area – the Signature ramp, the adjacent stands 16/17 and the section of the “A” taxiway alongside. The real airport has sloping ground here and it’s as if the UK2000 developers have recreated this – using slew mode I can drop down below the airfield and find myself on a grassy area 17 feet below the taxiway. If I taxi an aircraft along the taxiway, my altitude remains constant with my wheels on the ground but an AI aircraft in front, also taxying at a constant altitude, will rise above the surface before rejoining it a couple of hundred yards further on.
One way of partially alleviating the problem is to turn off aircraft shadows. It is as if the shadow is cast on the lower scenery, with the aircraft actually at the correct height but with its shadow several feet below it. Not a very satisfactory solution, though. Without a shadow it's hard to determine if an aircraft is floating or not.
Here's a photo to illustrate:-

Following the advice on the earlier thread, I placed a copy of my AF2_EGGW in the scenery\world\scenery folder which made no difference. As a check it was actually active, I dropped the airfield elevation by a few feet, which affected AI aircraft parked on the rest of the airport but not the problem area.
So I’m posting this in case anyone else has had the same problem and has found a solution.
