I have the annoying problem of modern day AI Cessnas filling parking spaces at some of the CalClassic airports and causing regular AI propliners to disappear at they have nowhere to park. Have had a good look through the "Read Me" files to see how these Cessna etc. can be deleted without any success.
Tried deleting the CalClassic GA folder to see if that would solve but that didn't work.
Any directions as to how I can delete them much appreciated.
Thanks John

Since you say they are modern Cessnas, I will assume there are the default Cessnas, not used in the classic GA traffic package. Note that the package includes older Cessnas, so make sure they are the modern ones with the swept tail.
The default GA traffic is found in the default Traffic BGL found in the Sceney/World/scenery folder. If you are running the “pure” classic AI traffic there should not be any active traffic BGL files in there, except for the one I provide that says something like do not delete (?). That’s there to provide terrain mesh in the Caribbean, due to some odd FS9 bug. Any others are either the default traffic BGL (Traffic_nnnnnnnnnnn.BGL, where n is a number) or some other addon traffic BGL, usually for an addon airport scenery. I don’t know if anyone added GA traffic, though.

John,
We're assuming that in Settings/Traffic you've already unchecked the "general aviation" option box? That's the simple option as you can easily enable or disable GA depending on where you're flying.
I seem to recall reading that somebody had created a historic GA traffic bgl but not in my system and I can't see it anywhere else.
Good New Year to you and thanks as always for your airport photo and chart collections.
Bill

I also don't recall ever seeing or reading about any historical GA traffic. So I put together my own version. On the one hand, for flights outside the USA, I only use classic GA aircraft that are painted blank. That way, American registrations don't emerge as far back as Africa or Asia. A standard GA package classified by models and avoiding busy airports served as basic traffic. I deleted all flights that repeat more than every six hours as mostly longer flights are simply unrealistic. The same happend to all GA flights behind the Iron Curtain. At least I got this way a moderate and acceptable GA traffic.

Thank you to all for your replies. And thank you for your kind remarks Bill.
Have unticked the GA Traffic in the settings and that has removed the modern Cessnas etc. Again, have learned something new.
A long time ago I renamed the traffic030528.bgl file to .bgx but I have just noticed that I have a traffic030528.bak backup file still there. Is it okay to delete this file?
Happy New Year to everyone on the Forum. How many shopping days is it till Christmas?

It’s OK to delete it, but it can stay there if you like. Can’t have too many backups. Happy New Year.
