Hi Bernard, good to see you are still tirelessly creating vintage scenes. A scroll through your recent topics revealed a lot of fascinating depictions again. Thanks for still sharing them!

Hi Bernard, we can count on you for sustaining the vintage era. My flying time is divided between vintage and classic. Are these sceneries available for download? Thanks, Allen

Here's some interesting info. It's from the Wiki's for the two airfields, then the "last" airfield before the place was bulldozed to build the Pentagon: Hoover FieldWashington AirportWashington-Hoover AirportAirlines included PCA (Pennsylvania-Central Airways), Eastern Air Transport (Eastern of Rickenbacker fame), and American Airways (pre-bankruptcy name for American Airlines in the 1930's). PCA was a merger of Pennsylvania Airlines and Central Airlines (no relation to the post-war Central that was featured in the movie "A Gathering of Eagles" which eventually merged into the original Frontier Airlines in the late '60's), which both used Hoover then the combined airport after that until National was built in time for WW2. For the record, I would NOT have wanted to even TRY to land a DC-3 in that place. Everything I've read makes my forays in real life into several Mexican airports with a jet seem like child's play! Definately something worth looking into with PW, though PW work in general is WAY on the back burner for now. Still trying to get back into things, but have to deal with real-life things first. Thank you for these small tid-bits, Bernard. It makes me realize I'm not the only one trying to take FS9 to the '30's. Jorge Miami, FL

One of these days I will get back to my GW version. I built Midway airport for GW right after I did the remake of it for Calclassic but don’t remember how far I got. I know I had functional ai working and the airport runways down sized for the late twenties/early 30s. Problem is all this classic military scenery work leaves no time for these other things. Thank goodness Bernard is still doing it and publishing all these little tidbits to keep it interesting.

Al, you wrote above about Chicago Midway. Some time ago, I did a basic vintage version. The 'Columbus KCMH 2003' scenery includes the older part of the airport. It fits quite well with this era. For the early Newark Airport I use the older terminal part of 'KEWR 1958' scenery. Bernard
