The first scheduled flight to the new Washington Dulles Airport was done by an Eastern Air Lines Super Electra from Newark on November 19, 1962. Two days after it has been officially inaugurated by John F. Kennedy and former president Dwight Eisenhower. taking off from Newark overflying the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal southern of Philadelphia passing Baltimore in background and the visible Baltimore Municipal Airport reaching Washington D.C. finally approaching Washington Dulles Airport and landing there Not a very overwhelming reception at the complete virgin airport! The main terminal was designed in 1958 by famed Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen, which already created the well known TWA Flight Center at New York Idlewild. Thanks to the creator of the first 'Washington National Airport' scenery including this airport as well. And a silent thought for Frank Gonzalez for his Eastern repaint. Bernard

Thanks for the look. Ironic that the first flight was by an aircraft specifically designed to use National airport!

A good historical depiction Bernard. I've flown in and out of Dulles a number of times, unfortunately on jets, not propliners.

The Dulles Airport files where part of the first Washington National Airport scenery. Since these haven't been released separately. If Tom doesn't mind, I can make the few files available here.

Much appreciated! Thanks Bernard!
Love the classic design. Now if only there was a way to drive a Mobile Lounge in-game haha!

You can creaet that in FSX, although I’ve never liked the paths they take.

Found a X-Plane KIAD scenery which seems to include mobile lounges. But for FSX?

It doesn't include a readme because the author is unknown to me. It was Chris Helton, as I meanwhile figured out. Thanks Chris. Bernard
