I really enjoyed watching this, especially as I have flown with the now defunct Air Atlantique on a DC-3. Many questions have been asked by viewers of the video about the number of crew and the low altitude flown. I think they flew with (technically) a crew of two, the third in the film being one of a spare crew travelling (the other looked as if he was trying (unsuccessfully) to relax in the cargo area. They often flew low - the pressurisation system is non-operational so they couldn't fly high anyway. Also, the firm prided itself in responding to calls for aircraft quickly, claiming to have them off the ground in an hour, so many flights flew VFR (as this one did, and my DC-3 flight). They would fly at a level to avoid clouds of course. What most impressed me was how realistic (given the limitations of a computer screen) the CalClassic panel is - how I long for something of that quality for the DC-4 and many others. The aircraft was broken down to fuselage sections, wings etc for transport to a museum in Wales. I assume it will be put together again, so describing it as "dismantled" perhaps implies a gloomier situation than reality. www.flickr.com/photos/awilson154/51151348978Best regards, John

Hi John,
I certainly hope this will not be its final state, let’s hope for the best. Ken really did a nice job on the panel, I agree.
