Been away from FSX for a while and am getting back into it but don't remember all the tricks. My AC don't seem to have very much shine or reflectivity. Metal AC often appear dull grey. I remember in FS9 or FSX there was a quick check box setting that fixed this but I can't remember where/what it was.
Sorry for the lousy description but any help would be appreciated.

While FS9 has a reflections checkbox, I don't think FSX does? They are on by default?

I didn't see any reflections option in FSX. I think for FSX it has to be built into the texture to be enabled.

I'm coming to the same conclusion, thanks for checking and trying to help me out.

FSX aircraft shine is part of the aircraft's 3D model and cannot be changed without altering the model. The alpha channel in the aircraft's texture file can slightly alter the degree of shine, but that's all.

You can also replace the default environment file with one that provides more shine (or at least a different shine) I know that Frank used one with all his repaints and that’s why they don’t look as good on my machine.
