Am looking for an adjustment in FSX for AI taxi speed. Can't seem to find it in the CFG. Anyone know where I can locate it ?
Thanks in advance

AI taxi speed is controlled by the AI_Player.dll in the main FSX folder. I know there were some modifications to the DLL you could do in FS2004 to make the AI taxi at different speeds, or stop them from disappearing after the 5 minute timeout, I am sure something similar is available in FSX.

I got a program from Fly Away Simulations called FS9 Configurator. Tried downloading FlusiFix-2006 for FSX but kept getting warning of a possible Trojan so didn't go for it.mSounds like a cool little thing but I don't want to risk it.

OK. Managed to download FlusiFix that was virus free. Easy to use. Adjusted taxi speed right away though it is not infinitely variable. You can get either default speed or 35 MPH. 35 works just fine with me. No longer takes forever to get out to a distant runway for TO. And no more climbing up the back of the aircraft in front of you.
Thanks all for the replies and info.

You can get either default speed or 35 MPH. 35 works just fine with me. I thought the speed limit for taxi is 20 kt or 23 mph?

It is, but with the rudimentary AI taxi system in FS, faster is better.

Thank you Mike for mentioning FS9 Configurator. I did not know about it but have now installed it and it seems like a handy utility, also to check for and if required edit a whole lot of different values (did not test that yet). Still available at Fly Away Simulation but the author's website is not available anymore (and neither is the donate option). In that respect it appears to be abandonware - not entirely surprising after 18 years.
The settings for FS9 AI taxi speed appear to be free, will do a little test with those.
Cheers, Erik

This is a bit off-topic but testing FS9 Configurator in FS9 with LAX 1959 traffic, I can get the propliners to taxi as slow as 3-4 kts and as fast as 36 kts. Values outside that range, like 1 or something as outrageous as 90, have no further effect.

As I remember that is correct, it only accepts a limited set of values.

Thanks Tom. Within that range FS9 appears flexible, very nice.
