Good night everyone. I'm flying the Qantas Southern Cross route from Sydney to New York via stops in Nadi, Honolulu and San Francisco in that order. Fly it if you will! You'll love the tropical stops Anyway, one of the things that I've noticed is that my aerial photos for San Fran and LA international airports were enabled. I knew that because of the strange textures upon arrival at KSFO (San Fran). Anyways, I proceeded to disable them both, and an issue arrived. The headings of vors, intersections, etc. were shifted a bit, and things such as ADF gauges, vor gauges, etc. became inaccurate. Flight plan headings, including new ones I made just for testing this issue, came up with the same results. Thing is, I have ALL the other aerial photos disabled, except Hong Kong and New York, and this issue ONLY arises when I disable those two aerial photos (LA and SF) for those airports. I even disabled every single aerial photo with the same result (every single one means including HK and NY and SF AND LA respectively). Any workaround for this? I don't mind the issue, however - much more places thanks to the Calclassic team and the airports don't look too bad with the strange textures Regards Andrew

You are encountering a glitch that strikes some people randomly, with odd interactions. I’ve never seen it on my machine, though.
What I assume is happening is that the magdec.BGL file is not being loaded from the default scenery layer. Thus you are seeing true headings instead of magnetic. Some things to try.
Find the file above (usually scenery/base/scenery), and uncheck that scenery layer in the Scenery Library. Load into SFO. Quit FS, then restart. Re-check that scenery layer and load into SFO. Then quit FS and restart. Fixed?
Find the file above and move into a high scenery layer. It needs to be the highest layer in the library, and should always remain there. Many create a special scenery layer just for that file.
Hope this helps.

Andrew,
This is one thing I found in working stuff for my Platinum Wings modification of Golden Wings 3. The sim will go with the LATEST bgl scenery file that is loaded. That is to say, the one with the highest priority. It would seem this is the case with some of the photo-scenery, even though it shouldn't be.
One thing I've done to make sure the DEFAULT magdec bgl is always at the highest priority is to copy the "magdec.bgl" file from the "...main_fs_directory\Scenery\BASE\Scenery" folder into it's own folder in the Addon Scenery folder. Mind you, KEEP THE ORIGINAL in the regular folder since I ran into some issues by moving it.
I then have something like this: "...main_fs_directory\Addon Scenery\Magdec\scenery"
... in my Addon folder with the magdec.bgl file in the newly created scenery folder.
I then add it like any other scenery and make sure that it's at the HIGHEST priority on the list so that it overides ALL OTHER scenery magdec information.
Unless you have some scenery that requires you to use it's own magdec info, this will ensure that ALL your scenery is using the default magdec so there are no more issues with headings or navaid info.
