Below is a link for a 10 minute youtube video from Mike Machat that talks about an Airliner Show being held in the LA area on Sat. June 1, 2024. I thought maybe some of the members in the LA area might be interested in attending. It looks like a lot of things from the Classic Era are covered at this show. In the video Mike gives details about the exact location, time, and who to contact for more information. Ed LAX Airliner Show

As I remember I only bought a few timetables - I don’t have the room for lots of “stuff”. 😩

I was raised mostly in San Jose, also went to school in Los Angeles and spent many hours watching planes at LAX. I figure that show will have lots of PSA, Air California, and Hughes Airwest stuff! I used to make lots of airliner models but got out of that part (anyone remember the old "Gate 66" magazine?). One thing I'd really like to find is a PSA timetable that shows the L-1011 flights into San Jose. It was very short-lived but somehow I had the info to be there when the first scheduled service arrived. Best regards, Kurt

I flew in a Mother Grinning Bird from SFO to LAX just before they were removed from service. The lower lounge was already closed, but the stew let me go down and look at it during the flight.

That is WAY cool! I was in my last year of high school, at the time, and always intended to take a ride on Mother Grinningbird "some day" but they were removed from service before I could do it.
Now I DID get to ride on a PSA Electra, once (Hollywood-Burbank to LAX). My only Electra ride...
Best regards, Kurt

That's something I didn't get. Had to go to Alaska and fly the Reeve Electra for that.

I suspect the scenery was much more spectacular, up there! Perhaps a bit more than a 15-minute ride, also? Kurt

I’m based in England however, I’m holidaying in the Socal area May 25-6 June (before heading North to Seattle where my Daughter’s based). I’ll check my itinerary to see if it coincides, since I love to meet other aviation enthusiasts who share our hobby both simulation or, just historic interest.
