Might have been a case of "every plane painted differently"?

Do you have any more information about this airline? I can't seem to find anything about it -- love the livery though.

From the book "Forgotten Flights": SOUTH PACIFIC AIR LINES (see Dollar Airlines) San Francisco, CA. 1960-1964. Low frequency scheduled passenger flights between Honolulu and Tahiti with continuing service to Fiji. Wide ranging passenger charter authority in the South Pacific. In 1964 routes were awarded to Pan American. L-1049 equipment. DOLLAR AIRLINES (Robert Dollar Shipping Inc.) San Francisco, CA. 1953-1960. Purchased Trans Oceanic airways of Australia and their three Short Solent flying boats. Attempted to operate scheduled passenger service from Honolulu to Tahiti. During interim had wide-ranging charter authority in the South Pacific. Ordered L-1049 equipment, but never operated. Renamed South Pacific Airlines (see) in 1960. And the listing at timetableimages: www.timetableimages.com/ttimages/spal.htmYou can look inside two of those. Hope this helps,

But that was Dollar airlines. Note I included both SPAL *and* Dollar airline's entries from the book. They changed their name to SPAL before the Connies were delivered.
Do you have pics of the Super Connies operating in Dollar livery?
Thanks,
