Hi,
Both are beauties, Manfred. Thanks so much!
I remember seeing a few C-121's at McClellan AFB, but the RC-121's were much more common.

8-)In the late 40s and early 50s, the Picket Ships were based at Mather. They used to fly down to Hamilton for practice GCA runs. One of our GCA operators had a brother that was flying on them out of Rancho Cordova.

I lived just northwest of Rancho Cordova, in Foothill Farms.

My late Brother and Sister-in-law lived just a bit further east. They lived in Folsom. I really enjoyed my annual drives out to their place. My niece and her husband live there now.

I had flown on a few of the R7's back in AEW in the 60's, we had I think 4 of them along with the wv-2's. US Navy C-121J BuNo 131644 "Pegasus-7"
Delivered to US Navy as a Lockheed R7V-1 Super Constellation and given BuNo 131644 on 19 Dec 1953. She went to VR-1 at NAS Patuxent, MD in Dec 53, coded RP-644 and named "Taurus." Transferred to Airborne Early Warning Squadron Fifteen (VW-15) at NAS Patuxent River, MD, in 1955 and then to Airborne Early Warning Maintenance Squadron Two (AEWMATRON 2) at NAS Barbers Point, TH by 1956. She was redesignated as a C-121J in 1962 when the Navy and Air Force standardized aircraft designations per order of SecDef McNamara. 131644 was transfered to Airborne Early Warning Barrier Squadron, Pacific (AEWBARRONPAC) at NAS Barbers Point by Dec 62. On 1 Sep 64 she was transferred to VX-6 at NAS Quonset Point on 1 Sep 64 and named "Pegasus-7". In this squadron she was used on "Operation Deep Freeze annually as a cargo/personnel transport. One penguin was painted on side nosewheel door for each completed Deep Freeze mission. Coded JD-7 from at least Mar 66. She was damaged beyond repair landing at Williams Field, McMurdo Sound, Antarctica at 2010 hours local on 8 Oct 1970. The aircraft, with 80 on board, was flying from Christchurch, New Zealand, on its first flight of the 1970-71 season. After making six low passes over the field, "Pegasus-7" attempted to land in zero visibility, winds gusting to 40 mph in a snowstorm and in 90-degree crosswinds. The starboard wing was torn off completely and the tail unit broken. There were only slight injuries to five on board. The wreckage remains at McMurdo and the airstrip has been renamed Pegasus in it's honor. Thanks for the memories.

Also this file does not exist, but shows 2 downloads.... FS2004 (ACOF) - FS2004 Propliners FS2004/FSX Airlift International Lockheed [ Download | View ] Name: alsh.zip Size: 3,492,757 Date: 05-25-2009 Downloads: 2 FS2004/FSX Airlift International Lockheed L-1049H Super Constellation. These textures depict N6937C about 1966. Model by Manfred Jahn. Textures by Gary Harper. The files are available now. Just to explain what happens, when I import new files the entry goes immediately into the database and the file goes onto the first server, but is not immediately downloadable. When importing a batch of files I first have to finish some editing (making sure files are in the right section, checking off the AI box, complete box, etc.) and once that is done the files get copied to the download servers, and then you can download. This usually only takes a few minutes so if you caught a file in the database that you couldn't download I must have still been working on it and waiting a few minutes and trying again should work.
