Hey all you Oklahoma aviation experts! I am trying to figure out what the TWA airport route looked like in 1938- or at least close to it, for my FS airport project. Namely, what was the main Oaklahoma City airport in use just before WW II? And what was its general layout?
Thanks for any help!

8-)Hang in there, Capt. I have queried the good folks at OKC Will Rogers to see if they can come up with a diagram or aerial photo of the field as it was in 1938. As a boy, I grew up in OKC and TUL in the 20s, 30s and 40s. Our Boy Scout camp (Kickapoo) was just outside the Municipal Airport at Oklahoma City. Used to go by there a couple of times a month. Sadly, I don't have a photo of it. My home was just a few blocks away from what is now Wiley Post airport in OKC.

Capt. I received a reply back from OKC and they do not have a diagram or layout of the airport as it was back in the 30s. They did send me a couple of photos of the old terminal building if that will help. I will keep looking for an old chart that may show the old layout of the runways and taxi ways. Jesse

Will Rogers was the main Commercial Airline airport. Wiley Post and Downtown Airpark were both General Aviation airports.

Prior to 1941 it was known as Oklahoma City Municipal Airport. It was later renamed to Will Rogers.

Yes, thanks Chris. I actually had it pretty close. I had two of the runways a little longer. The 307's are coming out soon! I just can't get the defalt airport buildings out.
