And I'm sure people would have been happier flying that than the Metroliners!

The Metroliners were very unpopular not only with the passengers but the employees as well. They had 18 seats and could never carry more than 15 due to weight restrictions (we had the early underpowered version). Add to that no rest room. Southern had the right idea but realistic, comfortable commuterliners were a few more years away. Republic sold the Metros almost immediatly and were replaced with the wonderful Convair 580.
The repaint will be available in a few more days after some tweaking.

Looking forward to the repaint, as I once worked for Southern, and flew the Rattle-e-Bangs a few times. Always enjoyed it, too.

Thanks for the idea, Tim. THAT would be difficult and I'm already cross eyed from painting California Hawaiian!
Connie 1649, I worked for Southern also (in Memphis). Where were you stationed ?

Started at IAD, then GPT, finished up in MIA, where the duck got me.
Southern was a good outfit, I thought. Saw Frank Hulse a lot in Mia, and met a lot of good folks.
