That's the one and only road to Spain ;D
Years ago there was a road that crossed the runway at Jersey in the Channel Islanfs and the Islands first traffic lights were installed to control the traffic..this was in the 1950's
Later the road was closed off.

Yeah, NAS North Island in San Diego, CA has a few roads crossing the taxiways, but none across the runways. It is a bit weird to be driving on a ramp next to F/A-18's and you didn't technically cross into the movement area. Then there is the highways as runways setup that is used in some places in Alaska. Due to the fact that there are so many planes and pilots in Alaska, some highways are designated as airfields and signs on the road warn drivers not just of low flying aircraft, but of landing aircraft. And yes, the airplanes do get the right of way.

Also in San Diego, back when the Coast Guard used fixed wing aircraft into their facility across Harbor Blvd from KSAN (Harbor Blvd is the main road to the airport) they would close the road so their C-130's and business jets could get over to the hangar. Always made the drivers mad trying to get to the airport on time, but I enjoyed it!

Somewhere I have a picture she took of the last Albatross departing from the bay, marking the end of US Navy floatplanes. It was also nice seeing the bay without that eyesore of a bridge.

I remember being in Gibraltar 5 years ago when I was having a trip in Spain alone. I visited there for short hop, while waiting for the ship ferry to Tangier, Morocco. Beautiful Island indeed. And Airport itself as I remeber was near the boarder line of the spain and the British Gibraltar. I only viewed a RAF C-130 take off there and was a spectecular view. Nice airport with nice mediterranean sunshines
