Bronson Creek, like Maarten said, is indeed a challenge with it's 270 deg descending turn on finals. Not really challenging, but very scenic is Innsbruck, Austria (LOWI) But runway 08 is not easy if you come in from the east... And how about La Palma, Canary Islands? It has an 'off-centerline' NDB DME approach for rwy 01 with some steep cliffs on your left. And there is Samos, Greece, with it's circling NDB and curving approaches for both rwy's, a bit like Madeira. And there's St.Barth, and ...... this is gonna take too long guys!!

If you restrict yourself to NDB approaches, a very lot of them are challenging! Set in a bit of fog and dusk, and you have white knuckles.

Got it!, and good!, especially in dark or IMC! That I know, LICR is ( or at least was last time I checked, some time ago) closed from 2200 to 0630 local time zone, and the complexity of the rwy 33 approach keeps the tower closing the airport, if the visibility drops below 500m, regardless of the time of the day. ;D But of course, we are totally free to do away with RL prohibitions in our flight simulator ( I do it as well). If you restrict yourself to NDB approaches, a very lot of them are challenging! Set in a bit of fog and dusk, and you have white knuckles. NDB approaches are just a tad more challenging of VOR-DME ( and even less challenging if the NDB is coupled to a DME as well), at least if the local orography and weather are fair. Now, a NDB approach ( a non DME coupled one) in a complex orographic and/or weather situation... that could get interesting.

Yeah, when you throw NDB's into the mix a simple approach to some flat as a pancake place (like Amarillo, TX) becomes more difficult. In fact, using Amarillo as an example, the Prohibited area to the Northeast makes it a bit of fun and you don't want to mess with that area, that is Pantex, where the DoD is disassembling our Cold War arsenal. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I've had a lot of fun flying to places I didn't even know existed. LICR is a challenge and is exactly what I was looking for, a place that on a "Severe Clear" day is still a challenge. Castlegar was a challenge, but I cheat now and just line up on the river to the west and fly east then turn and land to the south. If the wind switches then I don't think I'm getting Connie down in there.

Every steep approach on a short runway can be considered hard and for selected kind of planes... and if on top of that said runway is positioned like that one, even more so. Care to share where to download that scenery by the way?

Talking with a friend of our past tour from Alaska to Ushuaia I remembered that Aspen KASE as well has a fun approach. It was there I gained my battle name "AnarchiA", "Anarchy", because flew that leg in a pranking mood and managed to cause more missed approach myself than the airport's approach complexity ( but wasn't alone at that, another of the tour pilots, once landed switched the plane with a P51 and was able to make a L-049 FSDZigns piloted by a close friend of his lose all 4 engines in the vain attempt of stay out of his flight path). ;D

Care to share where to download that scenery by the way? Apparently, the scenery's part of FlyTampa's Fly St Maarten package, which includes St Maarten, St Bartelemy and Saba.
