Introducing Busan International Airport (1960)

Hello everyone.

Today I have a scenery to introduce

It's Busan International Airport 1960 scenery.

defalut Busan International Airport is available as Busan Aero(RKPP) in FS9.

Busan International Airport (Soo Yeong Airport) was first built during japanese occupation in WW2.

It's Civil Operation started at 1948 by KNA. First UN force dispatched in Korea (Task Force Smith) came in to Korea via Soo Yeong Airport.

It operated until New Busan International Airport(current name Gimhae International Airport) was built and start to operate in 1976. During 1970s It was used as 2nd international gate of Korea. Many foreign leaders have visited Korea via Soo Yeong Airport.

Since then It was used as Military airbase but now completely destroyed and became apartment and department stores.

I have found a scenery developed by a korean scenery designer.
not a 100% complete scenery but he ceased developing it.
He developed it in 2005. and I had no chance to introduce it here.

Okay.. i'll start from airport environment.




It's near Sea on south side.. It's nearby mountain on North side.

Okay.. now Airport overview.


1 Runway(15/33) in mid 60s it was extended and 727 and A300 was operatable.


Main terminal with 2 buildings. Total 4Gates. Of cource gates were extended later.

It's bit low resolution maybe textures only.

And Tom, I saw in your classic Traffic pack, Classic traffics fly in to New Busan International Airport (RKPK). Can this be fixed in to RKPP if possible? It doesn't matter if it can't be changed but just suggesting

Thanks, it looks like a great airport.

Mike Stevens and Wolfgang Gersch have been working on Asia lately, and they already had me switch RKPK to RKPP! I don't think they have done more than work on the AFCAD file at this point. So your new scenery will fit right in. That airport switch will be in the next traffic update, coming when they release their scenery.

Hi,

This scenery looks nice. I have done an afcad and just a few default buildings for Pusan airport. I'll delete my entries for Soo Yeong in this new scenery. Seoul is half done and Pyongyang is done.

I will leave in Ground 2k4 work and the exclude files which eliminate the new Busan International airport. I have eliminated all the polygons and objects, so now it only appears as just a landclass area.

I do notice this, is it possible for you to modify your AFCAD file so that the parking spots produce a terminal turn, and not a straight in position for aircraft parking?

nice scenery !

If you send me the scenery files, I will do the
modifications to the AFCAD file for you.
Also I can add ramp lights and the needed
schnickschnack like stairs etc. ;D
