Hi, just posting a few pics of the problem. I had thought it was something to do with engine temperature as it does usually go away, but today with the DC6 the effect remained until the cylinder heads were at 200 deg. One shot shows no effect and this is the angle to the plane at the moment of taking the screenshot. Advice appreciated ! It does affect all airplanes to a greater or lesser extent, but usually until temps are up and then it stops. Pics hosted courtesy of Classic British Files, and is so simple to use even I can make sense of how to do it! Andy.

Hi, Those are particles of smoke in the engine effects. Your video card is not rendering the transparency properly. I believe this is a common problem in FSX? Make sure (if you copied this aircraft from FS9, for example) you have copied all the addon textures in the fs2004/Effects/texture folder. Hi,
In the 'effects' folder in FS9 is a 'texure' folder and this should contain this 'fx_1.bmp' which gives the smoke from start-up. This had disappeared but now been replaced and things are back to normal !!

I just experienced something similar on my new L-749 I went to my effects slider,on the graphics tab and it was on medium. I reduced it to minimal and all is well now. I had Black boxes on all my lights even the exhaust effects.
