I don't own it, but I have heard (and seen) great things about it. It really helps the shapes of coastlines, etc. The only down side I've heard about is that it puts some default airports out into the water, but there are some replacement airports out there that fix some of them.
Hope this helps,

I bought Ultimate Terrain X for FSX and generally I do like it. The only annoying thing so far are the street lights and traffic lights tend to flash under certain conditions, namely when viewed through fog or cloud cover. These can be turned off and I might just do that and take a little burden off the CPU. The road textures, at least in the FSX version, are a bit odd looking. They have cars and trucks painted on them, just like in FS9, but it looks weird in FSX as we have 3D cars and trucks moving along those roads.
For FS9, after having it in FSX, I'd say it is pretty much a necessity as the default roads in FS9 left much to be desired, especially for VFR fliers.

I have all 3 Ultimate Terrain FS2004 sceneries. Haven't had them active for over a year but I am very pleased to have them. They are great stuff. My favorite is the Europe version though. Particularly when flying the east coast of Northern Ireland just east of Belfast (which I know like the palm of my hand) I really notice how well the coastal line is featured. (roads, number and locations of small islands etc.) Actually I feel tempted to fly a bit over that scenery, as well as USA and Canada/Alaska again. But only propliners and smaller. Cheers, Maarten

I have it, Europe only under FS9, and would not renounce to it for anything. It gives me the most precise coastlines ever seen, even a little harbor in the town I go sea-vacationing exists ( of course, not all detailed, but the shape is there). Extremely suggested add-on for VFR people like me.

I was given Ultimate USA for FS9 just a few weeks ago. It's great. The coastlines look better, there's lakes where there should be, and roads where there should be. The night road lighting is nice, but not necessary. You can also customize exactly what scenery enhancements you want, and modify how others are shown (the default setting for how deep the streams are is horrible, but can be changed, for example).

Hi, i just installed UTEurope a few hours ago. I've been told it's a must have with FS9, and i'm surprised by what i still have to wonder about old fs9. Active Sky+GePro+FSGlobal+UT seem to be the state of the art for whom is still using Fs9, at least here in Italy. I must say it looks very good, makes the environment more natural and does not seem to affect too much framerates.

UTE ( used ever since I got it free a week after its publishing, because I used to write reviews on a site, and it was given to me to review), and I believe the other UT as well, is/are indeed not CPU intensive ( worked great on my old rig, an Athlon Xp 2400, with no noticeable frame hit), but needs some initial fine tuning. The night lights, for example, are beautiful, but in the day make the autogen reach negative numbers. It was the first things I disabled and never turned on again. Once tuned at its best though, it's something you can't do without if not feeling something important is missing. I was ( and am) so absolutely delighted that I could find the Agropoli harbor ( 40nm south of Salerno, more or less, my usual vacation spot) and stop there ( given I used an amphibian plane) in my VFR jaunts, and that it made Monte Vergine ( mountain that looms in front of my house, where I live in Avellino) an exact duplicate of the real deal, that I swore never to be without ever again.
