This one might be unsolveable.
I have three installations of FS2004 on my system. One named FS Alaska (dedicated to the FS Addon products); one named FS World (the basic FS2004 installation); and one named FS 1962 for Cal Classic.
I want to be able to install three of Lee Swordy's AFCAD tools, 1 for each installation. I can't seem to figure out how to do it.
Right now I have to change the name of the installation. For instance if the AFCAD tool is working with AF World and I want to use it in FS 1963 I have to change the name of the AF World folder to AFxxxx and change the name of the AF 1962 folder to AF World. Then the AFCAD tool will make a new list of airports and I can work with it. Then when I am finished I have to change the names back to their original folder names.
This is a very cumbersome process and I would like to have three AFCAD tool installations, one for each FS but nothing I've tried seems to work.
Any ideas?

Noel, I think I would use a couple of external hard drives to hold the two additional FS Modes. Keep the base FS2004 on your main HD. This way you can install the Lee Swordy AFCAD program on each separate HD and it will not be affected by one of the others. Just a thought.

That didn't work Jesse. I already have one of the nistallations on an external drive. I moved the AFCAD tool over there and when I started it it immediately went back the installation on the C Drive.
I think it has something to do with the registry. And you can only have one installation there at a time. AFCAD only seems to recognize that one.
I beleive I'm stuck with the renaming process cumbersome as it is.

Hi,
AFCAD looks in the registry for the scenery files. That's it.
The only other way is to use "From Specific File" in the File/Open dialog instead of From All Scenery. This works fine for existing AFCAD files.
If you are opening a stock airport, use the From All Scenery choice, but use File/Save As instead of File/Save, and save it to your other installation.
CAUTION! AFCAD has a bug in it that really messes up your files when you use Save As and then try to edit it again. If you use Save As, quit AFCAD, open your new file in the other installation using From Specific File, and edit that.
Hope this helps,
