Guys --
1. Is there any benefit (or is it even possible) to use the AIR files from the "template" folder in FS2002 in AI a/c? Can there even be a substitute for the King Air file? Not that it's isn't kinda fun (albeit in a perverse way) to see a DC-4 take off as if on a catapult. ;D
2. Don't really understand how to load the classic FS2002 wav files into FS2002. Any help?

Hi again,
For AI aircraft you can pretty much use any AIR file you like - try it and see how you like it. Copy the AIR file into the folder, change the sim= line to point to it, and restart FS.
Hope this helps,

Tom -- Also, and I know that I am a rank beginner when it comes to altering anything, WHERE does one find the GVP file to do a backup? I can tell you teach because you have infinite patience with guys like me. MARC

LOL. Patience is one of my virtues...
Change contact points only if the plane floats or sinks while taxiing.
The GVP file is in the FS SOUND folder. When you create a new one, it will have Classic in the name. You will use that one instead. There are instructions in the text file how to take the decompiled WAV files and recompiling with the new XML file.
Hope this helps,

Tom --
My folder has two .gvp files:
USEnglishASOS.gvp usenglishbig.gvp
Which one do I use. And do I rename it FSClassic?
Thanks,

Hi, Marc, you really need to read the text file in my package, and the text file for the decompiler. I wouldn't even try this if you haven't read those thoroughly. When you decompile the usenglishbig.gvp file, the Pilot folders will be created automatically. You will copy the wav files into those folders. You will then recompile using the XML file I provide; that will create a new GVP file with Classic in it. Hope this helps,

Hi, I'm new to the forum, so I don't really know where to post questions. I run FS2002 on a Windows XP machine, and have downloaded the UAL DC-7, and the SAS DC-7C, together with the respective version panels, but have no idea where to find the prop reverse lever/switch. The throttle control quadrant seems to be the place, but I can't find it. The throttles seem to be truncated, too. can anyone point me in the right direction? It's a bit embarassing running out of runway!!! Also I've downloaded the CA59 files, and installed them, but when I start FS2002, I get the following message." Scenery.CFG file error. Invalid remote path in scenery area.121. Click OK to continue." Anyone help please?? .Bolelisk.

Hi, You post questions right here. You need to open your Scenery.cfg file and find scenery area #121. Then fix the path to the scenery folder. Re: prop reverse using the v6 DC-6 panel. The Martin Bar is the blue bar across the top of the prop control box. Once on the ground and the throttle at idle, click it and do not exceed 20" MAP. You will slow down. When below 40-50 kts, throttle to idle and start braking.
