G'Day All
I am a member of an aviation enthusiast group (who said nerds?) and spend a fair bit of time photographing aircraft of interest based in or visiting South Australia. We were notified by our man on the inside of the impending arrival at Adelaide Airport (YPAD) of Gulfstream IV, N345AA and duly witnessed and recorded it's arrival from the U.S.A. via Fiji. As these aircraft often bring groups to Adelaide for concerts, recently having had Kings of Leon, Pearl Jam and AC / DC etc., thoughts turned to "who are this lot". We were somewhat surprised to see a number of middle aged but fit looking blokes unloading pushbikes from the baggage hold for inspection by the waiting Customs agents. Didn't look like Rockers to me. It turns out that they were here to take part in the "World Naked Bike Ride" to protest against the pollution caused by cars, having left a vapour trail clear accross the Pacific to do so. Their visit coincided with the "Clipsal 500" V/8 Supercar race around the streets of Adelaide. Oh and by the way the weather was nice for their ride, a balmy 31 deg. C yesterday. It's a funny old world.

vhbob,
Of course they came on a Gulfstream. It was probably cheaper than the luggage fees an airline would have charged for the bikes. A bit of advice if you will. Don't take any photos of these blokes while they are riding. Thanks for the laugh.

Yes there were woman. I was going to continue with this thread but realised that it had nothing to do with the Classic Propliners. Sorry about that.

In that case, all I was going to say was yes there were woman, but lest the public decency be offended, our fearless upholders of law and order insisted on a certain amount of carefully applied body paint before the ride could go ahead. This was not the case over in Sydney recently when 1500 naked people of both sexes were arranged on the steps of the Opera House for a picture taken by a "famous" photographer. This, however was "Art". This is all I have to say on the subject in case you good people should think that I am taking too much interest in these matters to be healthy.

...This is all I have to say on the subject in case you good people should think that I am taking too much interest in these matters to be healthy. Might be a little OT, but what's unhealthy about about female nudity? ...or male nudity, for females and those among the males who swing that way... It's hardly anything to make one scream at the scandal ( unless there was... some kind of activity best made privately)... after all, we all are born nude and thanks the Lord, Victorian and/or Vatican Style of " Free" Thought ( in both cases read: "Hypocrisy") is, or should be, a thing better left in the past, where it belongs.
