Ive just uplaoded some scenery to Flightsim that may intrest you guys, RAF Khormaksar was an important airfield in Aden during the 1950's/60's both military and civil, there's been a version available at the SOH for a couple of years but ive tweak'd the Afcad on this version to accept the classic ai

Hi,
Thanks. Was that the layout of the airport in the 50's and 60's?

Pretty close Tom, i got some help from the Aden airways site and the Royal airforce achive at Hendon to get it looking like the Area before the British pulled out in the mid 1960's. On reflection, i could have given a little more space to the civil apron, but i was'nt using Calclassic ai then and i was more intrested in the military side, the civil apron could be expanded a little west and the RAF fighter ramp reduced in size a little, i could do that with afcad but i cant move the fence as i lost the scenery master in a HD crash, i was'nt using object librarys back then, the main hangers and terminal are correctly positind and there's plent of room for ai traffic. cheers ian

Hi, I just downloaded and tried the scenery, and I'm afraid to say I've encountered all kinds of problems. The most serious among them is, that it looks like half of the Mil_parkings clashes with the static aircraft scenery: So far I also found issues with unconnected parking spots, objects obstructing taxi links, and residual apron lighting from the default afcad...

Ah, i can see the problem, i left the parking under the Bevs incase anyone wanted to do a better traffic file for the military transports, and they could then remove the Bev bgl from the scenery folder, the only free parking are the 4 spots on the east end of the apron, parking 3 4 5 and 6, my apologies, guess i should have included that in the read-me. objects obstructing taxi links Not sure what that is, if its on the sand-brown links bettween the main runways, there supposed to represent the dirt strips used by the army, Austers and Pioneer's, i closed them off to keep ai on the right taxiways. The other probs i can fix quickly with Afcad, i never fly at night so it did'nt occure to me to check, Once again, apologies and ive attached a revised Afcad, hopfully this should rectifie some of the issues. cheers ian

After downloading attachment, rename AF2OYAA.bgl to AF2_OYAA.bgl If this works out, i'll post the modified Afcad up to flightsim. cheers ian

Crickey! I landed there in a RAF 216 Squadron Comet 2 in Feb 1960. I can clearly remember Hunter's on the tarmac and I also recall we were told "no photogrpahs from the windows". They would be watching with high powered glasses and if caught one would not continue the flight.
You see it was a charter flight for Engineers and Scientists travelling between the Australian rocket range and the UK. I had a rank of Squadron Leader. So Now I can fly in using my Comet 2 and REMEMBER - Cheers with thanks.
