Hi all,
Mike Stevens has been working hard on his scenery for East Germany, but he's also been working on Berlin. With this new version of Tempelhof along with an update for Tegel and an edited AFCAD file for Manfred Jahn's very nice Gatow scenery, we now have all the major Berlin airports backdated! The Tempelhof scenery is a collaboration with Juergen Seidel, who did the original terminal and textures (completely reworked by Mike).
Here is an overview of Mike's Tempelhof airport:
A very impressive edifice! The cargo/charter area is nearest to us, the airlines (BEA and PAA) area in the middle, and the USAF area furthest away. (There usually aren't that many charter and USAF aircraft present.)
Next is the the front of the terminal, equally impressive. Note the famous Berlin buses, complete with advertising banners and accurate route numbers/names:
The USAF parking area - keep in mind that this was really an Air Force base that they allowed the airlines to use - originally civilians couldn't even use the main front entrance!:
The MATS traffic here is part of an updated traffic file, available in the new AI package update (see the relevant thread).
Finally, here is the charter area. Again, much of this is generated using the new AI traffic/aircraft update:
Note the new Autair Viking, along with an ex-TCA Overseas DC-4m.
The beta version is available below; the final version will later be uploaded to AVSIM.
Although I didn't get any pictures of it, Mike has also improved his Berlin Tegel scenery with some of the details seen here (like the buses and rotating flags), along with an updated AFCAD file and other touches. You can download the beta version here, before it's uploaded to AVSIM. Tegel was the French airport in Berlin, and features Air France aircraft.
Finally, if you don't have it already, Manfred Jahn's Gatow scenery is available, and Mike includes an updated AFCAD for the airport in the Tempelhof package to add parking spaces and backdate the tarmac and taxiways. Gatow was the British airport in Berlin.
We've also added more trooping traffic into Gatow in the new AI update. Shown here are a British United Viscount and an Overseas DC-4m.
You can download them here:

Please let us know of any problems here in this thread. Note that the elevation problems at Gatow are a known problem, and may not be fixed.
Thanks,
