The upload procedure at AVSIM is very simple:
You need to have your pictures and the zip file ready before you start. The pictures you need are:
1. 1 to 6 JPG pictures of the plane - they must be less than 100 KB in size. Resize them to 800 pixels wide (but keep the proportions intact) to display properly on the screen and get the size down.
2. 1 image rescaled to 150 pixels wide and saved as a GIF image. This will become the thumbail displayed on the main download page.
These pictures do not need to be in the zip file; they will see them before they download the file.
You must also include your email address in the text file in the zip file.
1. Then go to the AVSIM File Library page and click the Upload Files button.
2. Read the rules, and press the button at the bottom.
3. Fill in the information. If you make errors you will have a chance to correct them. You can leave the last box blank unless you have special instructions for the library manager.
4. Click the Send Information button.
5. You will see how your upload page will look. You can now make any changes you want to what you wrote.
6. At the bottom right is a Browse button - click it and find your 150 pixel wide GIF thumbnail image. Double click your GIF image.
7. Click the I've Made Changes or am About to Upload a File button.
8. Now you will see your thumbnail image appear on the page.
9. If you need to make any changes, repeat steps 5 and 7. If you need to change the thumbnail image, repeat steps 6 and 7.
10. After you are completely happy with your upload page as it is displayed, click the I've Made No Changes, Proceed to Next Stage button.
11. Click the Browse button at the right to upload your first JPG image of the plane. Find your first JPG image and double click it.
12. Click the I've Made Changes or am About to Upload a File button.
13. You can check your image by clicking the new link on your upload page. Close that new browser window.
13. Repeat steps 11 through 13 for each JPG image you have to upload.
14. When all JPG images are uploaded, click the I've Made No Changes, Proceed to Next Stage button.
15. Now click the Browse button at the lower right and find your zip file to upload. Double click it.
16. Click the I Want to Upload The File Above button.
17. THIS WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO UPLOAD THE FILE - be patient.
18. Click the Finished (?) button to complete your upload.
Hope this helps,
