Hello everyone, I'm just setting up my Flight Sim world afresh with a new install. I'm going to (try) to be more discerning with the downloads and keep the whole thing ticking over a lot quicker than my previous install, which slowly collapsed into a flickering, stuttering mess! Anyway, I thought a thread suggesting other backdated scenery available as freeware might be a good idea. My home airport, Coventry, is available as a 50's grass strip (which is accurate up until the concrete was laid in 1960, I think.) Search Avsim for 'Coventry Aerodrome' Coventry is a pretty apt addition as the modern Coventry airport is the home of G-APSA the DC6 plus DC3's, Rapides, DeHavilland Dove (and a Heron at the mo) TwinPin and a Pembroke. Plus a static Shackleton. Plus a Venom, Miles Magister, Chipmunk and Auster 5... Oh, and of course Atlantic Airlines who operate Electra's pretty much nightly and HDAir with Shorts 360's. Does it show much that I'm a fan? Back to the list, Manston is also available as a 50's military station (not what changed for civilian ops late 50's), search for 'Manston 1955' Of course there is also the previously mentioned on the old forum Manchester 1975 - obviously not our era really but it looks good and at least gets rid of the 2nd runway! www.dmflightsim.co.uk/egcc.htmRight, that's all I have at the moment. Over to you!

Hi,
Thanks for the tip! I'll add the Coventry airport to my scenery page - we have Jersey and Air Safaris flying there. The Manston RAF base is a bit far afield for the moment, but you never can tell. And I am using Dave's Manchester 1975 - he's promised a backdated version, but nothing yet.
