I have Mike Stones Caribou - a great plane - but I cannot seem to get the correct RPM setting. Max RPM on this plane is 2700 but I can only get about 1350. What and where are the parameters that can be changed (if any) to correct the RPM reading?
I have changed the RPM gauge but still get the same readings. Any help will be appreciated.
Tks, Ron

Hi,
You'll have to find real flight dynamics for the Caribou, or use a plane's FD that is close to that (at least that uses the same engines). Mike usually used a default aircraft FD for his planes, and I would suspect that this was a GA FD like the Beech Baron.
Hope this helps,

You're right, Tom...that's is the FD he used..I found that by increasing the Gear Reduction Ratio number in the [Propeller] section of the acft cfg I was able to obtain 2700 RPM.

Thanks, Tom...I d/l Jerry Allen's revised air and cfg file. I still had to tweak the RPM a bit but the 'bou flies great now..Thanks again for your help. Ron

Speaking of Caribous....the good folks at Premier Aircraft Design have just released their version of the airplane. That might be worth looking at as an alternative to the MS Caribou.
