Hi, In my project to get some AI blimps going around NAS Tillamook, I found that the flyable "Defender" for FS2002 will load and take off just fine...but it just keeps going and going and going.... no turn to do the touch 'n go's that the AI versions do just fine. Any ideas how to go about correcting this? (I know this has been brought up here before, but in a short search, I couldn't find the thread off-hand) Ideally, I'd just like to have a US Navy blimp built for AI ...like Zmc2 or ShenAI...but the Shenandoah didn't live long and is easily distinguished as a one-of-a-kind...and so's the ZMC-2..with it's 8 stablizer surfaces. Any ideas? Yours,

Hi Randy,
Bill Lyons included AI blimps in his S-43 and Goose packages. You might want to use those. They're perfectly fine.
Best regards, Volker

Hi,
What you could do is replace the AIR file used in your blimp with the AIR file from Bill's AI blimps. That should fix it.
Hope this helps,

Possibly I'm teaching you to suck eggs but it crosses my mind that dissection of some packs I have seen may help. David Marshall did a pack using Bill Lyon's' blimp for AI out of Moffatt Field, San Francisco, called something like "Just for Fun", at AVSIM. He was also behind a nice pack for Tillamook which included an AI blimp. John Stinstrom has done some nice WW2 airship stations, both as single sceneries and a compilation (search his name at AVSIM) and these have traffic - not sure if it's all AI or if some is dynamic but the sceneries are useful and his traffic looks good! I don't know if any do touch-and-goes but I have seen the Moffatt blimp on circuit, just never watched to see if it landed or continued. Frank J. Petriccione modelled a number of airships for FS2002, which I had no luck with as AI in that or FS9, and have not tried his FS2004 models. I'd love to get some airship AI running in my Golden Wings installation but that's after one or two other projects! I think one Lyons pack, possibly the Travel_Air, had a Shenandoah class of ship passing by, again, I suspect it was dynamic rather than AI.

Hi, Volker, I did find that one ...but after the original post. You reminded me that it was in "Golden Wings 3"..along with the S-43....possibly in the "Golden Hawaii package, too. I don't remember now. At any rate, it does touch n'go's around Ford Island in Bills' scenery. It works well in mine, too! ;D I think I might see if I can get permission to use this .air file and .cfg for a couple of new blimps I could whip up. I bought the Revell Model kit for the K-class sub hunters when I was at Tillamook, so I could get the dimensions that way. John... uhm... maybe I should have checked to see if anyone had built these hangars before I went to the trouble to build it. I thought I did, but since I'm not familiar with John Stinstroms work, I forgot to check him. I thought all his projects were for a more modern era....and most are, but he's all ready completed what I set out to do. ...return all 8 naval air stations to World War II. Oops, that was what I was going to do. Would anyone like try these hangars anyway? Yours,
