I installed the Convair reverse gauge from the CV-340KMCC panel:
gauge35=cv340!reverse, 700,600,60,65
This worked fine with the supplied L-749 aircraft.cfg and did not kill the engines although you must be quick advancing the throttles. The location above places the reverse switch between the trim gauge and the compass icon. Not strictly accurate perhaps, but effective anyway.

Chris Thanks for the suggestion of the place where to place the reverse gauge, I've gone a step ahead and relocated the regplate gauge over the flap shut off test switch and placed the reverse gauge perhaps a bit better, going by my tastes. Tried the gauge with the original propeller and it killed my engines AGAIN, before I could even think about to advance the throttle. Tried with the Starliner 2.1 propeller section and it worked like a charm. Tried it with FSAviator's propeller section attached by Tom some posts back and it worked even better. ;D Now the only thing I still have to do is to put the plane to the test ( later today) to see how it behaves in flight after the prop transplant. All in all I'm quite satisfied. Thank you all for the suggestions, the brainstorming and the bug hunting done with me. Wish you all a Merry Christmas ( if you do celebrate it, if not, then please disregard and do not get offended) and a Happy New Year.

Hi, My opinion on holiday greetings is that anyone is free to offer them, whether they be for Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or Ramadan. Everyone else just needs to take them in the spirit they are given.

It is like you say. there's no implied offense in wishing a happy holiday to others, even if some of those others might not celebrate said holiday, but past ( bad) experiences have taught me to be cautious on matters like those. This might not be necessary here, and I'm happy for it, but when I wrote those lines I didn't know it yet.
